Simplicity is Paul Clark’s mantra. He founded Packet Ship Technologies in 2005 as a Truro-based software company specialising in digital video systems. Now, five years on, Packet Ship’s software is used – often unknowingly – by thousands of people all over the world, from the movies in their hotel room to the patient information at their hospital bedside or financial news at their desk.
The company specialises in software technology delivering the highest quality video all the way from the production studio to a hotel bedroom TV, hospital bed or desktop PC. Packet Ship's products are unique in the UK, one of only two suppliers in Europe and a handful worldwide. They are installed by Packet Ship's partner companies in well-known hotels from Sweden to Taiwan, hospitals throughout the UK and schools, universities and businesses worldwide.
Cornwall has turned out to be the ideal base for the company, which takes its name from the first global content distribution system – the Packet Ships that carried mail quickly and securely from Cornwall to the rest of the world in the 18th and 19th centuries.
